Partnerships

We are a strong partner organisation reflecting this in our organisational values and behaviours.  The Foyer was founded as a partnership between various public and voluntary sector interests who had a shared concern to tackle youth homelessness and unemployment.  We became a melting pot for ideas and innovation which remains a lasting trait. Forging effective partnerships pays dividends in meeting our central charitable purpose and ambition.

Our partners and funders include Aberdeen City Council, Aberdeenshire Council, North East Scotland College, Grampian and Langstane Housing Associations, NHS Grampian, Skills Development Scotland, Department of Work and Pensions/JobCentre Plus, as well as other social enterprises and charities including Homewards, The Prince’s Trust, Barnardo’s, Alcohol and Drug Action, Home Start, Action for Children, Aberdeen Cyrenians, Turning Point Scotland.

Aberdeen Foyer is a proud bid partner to Prince William’s five-year Homewards programme. Aberdeen was chosen as one of five flagship locations, where this locally led programme will demonstrate that together it is possible to end homelessness: making it rare, brief and non-recurring.

Homewards has taken a transformative approach to the issue of homelessness placing collaboration at its heart and giving the six flagship locations tools and relationships to showcase what can be achieved through a collective effort and shared agenda to prevent homelessness from occurring.  The five-year programme has brought Aberdeen City Council, communities and third sector organisations, including Aberdeen Foyer, together to create and deliver a tailored plan to prevent homelessness in Aberdeen – based on local needs and lived expertise.

Aberdeen was revealed as one of the six locations on 27 June 2024, when Prince William visited Tillydrone Community Campus to meet representatives of Aberdeen City Council, other project partners, and people with lived experience of homelessness.

You can learn more about the initiative from the Homewards website: https://homewards.org.uk/

Aberdeen Foyer is proud to be a member of Every Youth, a UK wide movement, bringing together local charities to tackle youth homelessness on a national scale. The Foyer represents the North East of Scotland and the partnership provides us with a national platform to raise awareness, share experience and generate vital voluntary income to support and enhance the services we provide to young people.
