If you are aged 16-25 and affected by homelessness or you feel at risk of becoming homeless, we can help you. We can offer you Housing support in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire: No young person should be held back because of their housing. While with the Foyer, you also have access to our other services to help you learn skills which will equip you to live independently.

Our Nightstop service offers you short respite, and our Housing support in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire can help you longer term. Find out more below.

    Housing in Aberdeen

    Furnished accommodation for young people in Aberdeen city centre who are experiencing homelessness.

    What is it?
    High quality self-contained furnished accommodation available to let to people aged 16-25 who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness and require support.

    When is it?
    Whenever Aberdeen City Council refers to our service and we have capacity for new tenants.

    What will I gain from it?
    Housing, wraparound support with the end goal of independent living and move-on support when it’s time.

    Who can apply?
    Contact Aberdeen City Council’s Housing Advice Service by calling their homelessness helpline 0800 917 6379 (24 hours) and they will advise you on next steps and refer to us.

    Where is it?
    In Aberdeen City Centre.

    Housing Support in Aberdeenshire

    This service can help you hold onto your current tenancy or alternatively explore your other housing options.

    What is it?
    Housing Support Service helps young people who may have experienced homelessness, are at risk of homelessness or who might need support to manage their tenancy in Aberdeenshire.

    When is it?
    Ongoing support after you are referred to our service, usually once per week until you have learned desired skills.

    What will I gain from it?
    Skills to manage your tenancy including increased confidence, budgeting, setting up energy and gas providers as well as assist you in finding resources and opportunities in your own community.

    Who can apply?
    Anyone living in Aberdeenshire aged 16 to 21 (up to 25 if you care experienced). You can email hosupport@aberdeenshire.gov.uk or call 01467 538125 or be referred by your Housing Officer, Social Worker or any other person who may be working with you.

    Nightstop

    Nightstop can provide you short-term accommodation so that you can rest and relax, allowing you to think about what’s next for you.

    What is it?
    Community hosting offered to low-risk youth on temporary basis: a young person will be offered dinner and their own bedroom at a Nightstop Host’s home for a few nights or weeks, depending on the requirements of the young person and the Host.

    When is it?
    As long as one of our Hosts is available, we can support you whenever you require!

    What will I gain from it?
    Young people using Nightstop will be able to rest in a safe environment and to think about what is best for them. Aberdeen Foyer will support you during the day and see if moving back home is an option with some support.

    Who can apply?
    Low-risk young people who need rest and respite for a few nights can enquire about staying at a Nightstop Host’s home.

    Where is it?
    In Aberdeen.
