    REACH Programme

    Participating in Aberdeen Foyer’s REACH Programme is a great way to build routine, socialise and rediscover what you enjoy doing.

    What is it?
    A 12-week learning and employability programme,

    When is it?
    Monday - Thursday 9.30am - 3pm

    What will I gain from this course?
    You’ll develop your confidence, obtain nationally recognised qualifications, reconnect with your community, meet new people and learns skills. If you need IT equipment, we can help, along with childcare if required.

    Who can apply?
    Anyone aged 16 and over who is unemployed and in stable recovery from health and wellbeing challenges whether physical, mental or dependency related.

    Where is it?
    Aberdeen, Peterhead, Banff & Fraserburgh.

  • Communities - Graphic people coming together

    Support in the Community

    The Communities team offer a wide variety of support depending on your goals and aspirations.

    What is it?
    One-to-one support and course opportunities delivered from our Marywell Centre and in the Community.

    When is it?
    Courses run all year round.

    What will I gain from it?
    One-to-one support is tailored for your needs and aspirations. You have the opportunity to complete City and Guilds modules but also improve your confidence and feel more connected to your community.

    Who can apply?
    Aberdeen residents of any ages.

    Where is it?
    In Aberdeen at our Marywell Centre and in other locations across the Community.

    Guiding Young People's Futures

    With Foyer Futures you will increase your confidence by working 1-to-1 with a development coach to discover your skills and potential.

    What is it?
    An opportunity to work one-to-one with a development coach to discover your goals and to re-engage with education.

    When is it?
    Once per week, when it is suitable to you and your coach.

    What will I gain from it?
    Engaging with Foyer Futures will increase your confidence, develop your learning skills and overall help you move your life in the direction you want.

    Who can apply?
    14–24-year-olds looking to engage with education, learning, training, and employment.

    Where is it?
    Aberdeen City and Shire. You decide together with your coach where you want to meet.

    Counselling

    Seeing a counsellor can improve your mental health and help you develop strategies for coping.

    What is it?
    We offer therapy on one-to-one basis, with weekly sessions. You have the option of in-person and virtual counselling (via phone or video).

    Where is it?
    Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.

    Who is it for?
    For young people (16+) and adults.

    How can I get involved?
    Submit a referral form and we will contact you as soon as we can. Fill in our form

    If you have any urgent questions or require assistance in completing a referral, please email our team at Counselling@aberdeenfoyer.com

    Our counselling service provides a safe, non-judgemental environment to enable you to explore issues which may be causing you distress.

    This service is open to everyone - young people and adults.

    Employability Courses

    Finding employment can help you establish routine and bring fulfilment into your life.

    What is it?
    1-to-1 Employability support: CV writing, interview skills and training courses to gain employment in broad choice of sectors.

    Foyer’s Employability Team offer courses to bring you closer to your employment goals.

    What is it?
    1-to-1 Employability support: CV writing, interview skills and training courses to gain employment in a broad choice of sectors.

    When is it?
    We are actively taking on new clients and courses take place all year round.

    What will I gain from it?
    Improving your confidence and self-belief, gain accredited qualifications, certificates and sector based skills.

    CV writing, job search and interview skills.

    Support as you progress into employment.

    Who can apply?
    Different training courses have varying eligibility criteria. Contact us to find out what opportunities are available in your area and desired work sector.

    Where is it?
    Our Employability team in Aberdeen is based in our Marywell Centre and our office in Peterhead is on Kirk Street.

    Foyer Families Programme

    Foyer Families Programme can help you and your children develop together.

    What is it?
    A 16-week learning and employability programme.

    When is it?
    Tues-Thurs 9.30am - 2.30pm

    What will I gain from it?
    You’ll obtain nationally recognised qualifications, while learning how to further support your child’s learning and play. You’ll develop personal confidence and have a fun and meaningful team experience, while planning the next steps in your future.

    Who can apply?
    Parents and carers in Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen, who have at least one child under 12.

    Where is it?
    Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire with an online course also available. (Online course admissions require certain criteria, please contact us to discuss)

    King's Trust Team Programme

    Working as part of a team will boost your confidence and you’ll learn new skills.

    What is it?
    A 12-week personal development programme

    When is it?
    Monday - Friday 9.30am - 2.30pm

    What will I gain from it?
    You’ll obtain nationally recognised qualifications, meet new people, build new skills and confidence, and develop on team-working by taking part in community projects. You’ll go on a week away on Residential taking part in adventurous activities, and participate in meaningful work experience.

    Who can apply?
    Anyone between the age of 16-25 who is not in education or employment.

    Where is it?
    We run the King’s Trust Team Programme in Aberdeen and Peterhead.
