Ken's big walk from shire to shore

Ken Milroy retired in August 2018 as CEO and founder of Aberdeen Foyer, a role he held from April 1996. “To mark my retirement I set myself a challenge to walk across Scotland from my home at Ballogie, Aberdeenshire to visit my sister at Lochgilphead.”

Ken is starting his challenge on Tuesday 21 May. “I have planned a route that will take me through some of the remotest parts of Scotland, so will involve me camping en route. I plan to complete the 180 mile walk over 11 days, walking between 15 – 20 miles per day.”

“I’d like to make a parting contribution to Aberdeen Foyer so am seeking donations to support the work of this great organisation.

“For those who might want to join in part of my walk, I have a day by day plan and will attempt to keep it updated, should I be delayed or indeed cover more ground than planned in any day. Please email me on kenmilroy01@gmail.com for more information.”

Ken has set himself an amazing challenge and everyone at the Foyer wishes him well and lots of luck!
