Aberdeen Foyer supports 350 of the north east’s most vulnerable during lockdown
Local North East charity, Aberdeen Foyer has set up an urgent initiative to provide support and assistance to those most at risk during Covid -19.
Cash boost from Morrisons Foundation
Aberdeen Foyer, a charity that supports young homeless people across the local region was delighted to receive a grant of £5,225 from the Morrisons Foundation. This support will ensure that the charity can provide food and essential items to over 50 young homeless tenants living in supported accommodation throughout the coronavirus pandemic and beyond.

The Covid-19 pandemic has compounded the already complex needs of the most vulnerable people currently engaging, or seeking to engage, with Foyer services. It has also given rise to a new set of needs for those previously managing their lives without support.
Food deliveries - AC2U
Aberdeen Foyer has partnered with Aberdeen Cyrenians, Social Bite and CFINE to work in collaboration to distribute food to people who are experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness.
Vital mental health support service
With funding from the European Social Economy Growth Fund supported by European Social Fund (ESF) and Scottish Government, the Foyer employed an educational psychologist and a young people’s counsellor.
Donation from Peterson
Leading international energy logistics provider Peterson has donated £20,000 to Aberdeen Care and Repair and Aberdeen Foyer, following a wide-ranging fundraising campaign throughout 2019.
Transforming futures evaluation
H&M Foundation and End Youth Homelessness launch evaluation of Transforming Futures Programme which has supported almost 900 vulnerable young people across the UK.
New Chair of the Board

Petrofac employees raise £8,000 for the foyer
PETROFAC employees based in the north-east of Scotland have raised £8,000 for the Foyer.
More than 530 employees attended Petrofac’s Christmas Dinner Dance at the P&J Live and dug deep for the Foyer’s Christmas Appeal: a campaign to provide those currently experiencing homelessness with a cosier Christmas.

There really is 'No place like home'. The Wizard of Oz theme was particularly appropriate for this year's annual Foyer Christmas fun day and marks the film's 80th anniversary!
Young philanthropists raise £210 for the foyer
We were delighted to be represented by a team of young philanthropists from Mackie Academy who made it all the way to the Youth and Philanthropy Initiative (YPI) final.
Lauren, Flo and Mia were most interested in our work around preventing youth homelessness and chose this as the theme for their presentation.
Deloitte ride across Britain 2019
Stuart Holden, a manager at Deloitte LLP, is taking part in this year’s Deloitte Ride Across Britain bike ride. Described as a world famous bucket list event, 900 riders will cycle 980 miles over 9 days from Land’s End to John O’Groats starting out on 5 September.
Ken's big walk from shire to shore
Ken Milroy retired in August 2018 as CEO and founder of Aberdeen Foyer, a role he held from April 1996. “To mark my retirement I set myself a challenge to walk across Scotland from my home at Ballogie, Aberdeenshire to visit my sister at Lochgilphead.”
Transforming futures
Over 2 years, with the support of the H&M Foundation through End Youth Homelessness, we have been able to make a difference to 136 local young people, many of whom had multiple barriers making it very difficult to start training or get into work.
One Peterson
Aberdeen Foyer is really pleased to have been chosen as One Peterson’s Charity of the Year for 2019.
The Foyer wants to end youth homelessness and poverty in the North East. Monies raised by One Peterson will help us achieve this.
Donation from SVS
Specialist Valve Services based in Westhill made a donation to the Foyer of £1,123.75 following a charity auction held at their 20th Anniversary dinner dance. Leona McDermid received the cheque from Gerry Henry SVS Managing Director.
